LAS VEGAS, NV – A motorcyclist died Monday evening after running a red light at a North Las Vegas intersection, KTNV reports.
Officials say that the motorcyclist was heading southbound on Las Vegas Blvd towards Lake Mead Blvd when he ran the red light and struck a Chevrolet pickup truck which was heading eastbound on Lake Mead. The motorcyclist—identified only as a man in his 40s—died at the scene.
Speed was believed to be a factor in the accident, according to the police.
The driver of the truck stayed on the scene following the accident and was not suspected to be impaired. It remains unknown whether or not the motorcyclist was impaired at the time.
