News Update: Identity of pedestrian killed near Reno identified

RENO, NV – The identity of the pedestrian killed Tuesday morning near Reno has been revealed Stephen Rice, 50, of Reno, reports News 4.

Authorities responded to eastbound I-80 near Mogul around 7 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of the accident.

Rice, a teacher and coach at McQueen High School, was walking in the travel lane at the time of the truck. The semi-truck driver attempted to avoid him but failed. The driver of the semi-truck remained on the scene after the incident and cooperated with investigators.
