News: 8-year-old boy riding bike in apartment parking lot fatally hit by car

LAS VEGAS, NV – An 8-year-old bicyclist was fatally hit by the driver of a pickup truck in a parking lot on Boulder Highway last night, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The crash happened at 4375 Boulder Highway, near E Desert Inn Road, at about 6:40 p.m., when an 8-year-old boy was riding his BMX bicycle through the apartment parking lot. He was hit by the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado who was making a left turn.

The 26-year-old driver got out of the vehicle and rendered aid to the child until authorities arrived.

The child was taken to the hospital, and there, he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Authorities do not believe that the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
