News: Driver suspected of impairment strikes, kills pedestrian in Paradise

LAS VEGAS, NV – A woman is dead after being struck by a suspected impaired driver in the Paradise area of Las Vegas on Thursday, reports Las Vegs Review Journal.

Rhonda Medina, 44, was crossing the street at the intersection of Sammy Davis Jr. Dr and Vegas Plaza Dr around 11:36 p.m. when she was struck by a Hyundai Elantr driven by Corey Hockin, 27. Medina died at the scene.

Officers arrested Hockin and charged him with suspicion of DUI resulting in death.
