News: California teen critically injured in Lake Havasu boating accident

LAKE HAVASU, NV – A teenager from California suffered critical injuries during a boating accident on Lake Havasu yesterday afternoon, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The accident happened at about 3:40 p.m., when a personal watercraft collided with a 28-foot boat.

The impact sent a 16-year-old occupant of the personal watercraft went into the water. He was pulled onto the other boat by multiple people, including the operator of the boat, a 49-year-old man from Kingman.

The teen was taken to the hospital in Havasu, and from there, was airlifted to Las Vegas with extremely critical injuries.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, though authorities believe that speed may have played a role. They do not believe intoxicated boating was a factor in the accident.
