News: Elderly man in crit. condition after being hit by driver on Rainbow Blvd
LAS VEGAS, NV – An elderly man was severely injured after being hit by a driver in the southwest Las Vegas Valley this morning, according to information from FOX 5 Vegas.
The accident occurred in the 7800 block of S Rainbow Boulevard near W Robindale Road at around 8:50 a.m., when the driver of a Chrysler Sebring made a left turn into a private driveway. He then collided with a 73-year-old man walking along the sidewalk. The victim hit the windshield, then came to rest in the driveway.
He was taken to the University Medical Center for the treatment of severe, critical injuries.
The driver, who remained at the scene, is not suspected of having been under the influence when the crash occurred.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
