News: NHP respond to fatal crash on I-15
RENO, NV – According to Fox 5, a fatal crash was reported near Stateline on northbound I-15 Monday morning.
The driver of a Honda Accura struck the rear of a Honda Accord that was parked on the far left travel lane with its headlights on. The impact sent the Accord across multiple lanes of traffic before coming to rest on the right shoulder, partially blocking lanes of traffic.
Dispatchers sent first responders to the crash site after receiving calls concerning the crash around 12:05 a.m. They attempted to render aid to the driver of the Accord, but he died at the scene. They also treated the driver of the Accura at the scene. He had moderate injuries.
Authorities did not charge or cite anyone for the crash. They believe the driver of the Accord may have been impaired at the time of the collision. The incident is still under investigation.
The exact location where the car wreck happened is unclear at this time.
