Las Vegas Traffic Task Force Aims To Reduce Fatal Car Accidents 

Las Vegas and Clark County have the highest number of traffic accidents in the state, often resulting in serious injuries and fatalities. The Las Vegas Traffic Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional agency that was just launched in December 2025. The participating law enforcement agencies across the Valley that make up the task force include:

• Nevada State Police 
• Henderson Police 
• North Las Vegas Police 
• Clark County School District Police 

How Does It Intend To Reduce Fatal Car Accidents? 

The mission of the task force is to tackle the rising number of traffic deaths in the Las Vegas area and Clark County with strategic law enforcement.  

There have been 153 fatalities in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area so far in 2025, and there were 160 in 2024. Using information collected over the years, the task force intends to target various locations throughout the Valley and intersections with a high number of fatal crashes.  

They intend to focus on these areas: 

• Speeding  
• Distracted driving 
• Reckless driving 
• Impaired driving  
• Pedestrian safety violations 

The increased enforcement could help prevent and reduce car crashes, along with serious injuries and fatalities. The task force hopes to increase awareness about unsafe driving behaviors, while reducing the number of deaths on Las Vegas roads.
